Capt Amarinder appoints Khangura as PCC representative to interact with NRIs - 09/08/2011

CHANDIGARH, August 9: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh has appointed Qila Raipur MLA Jassi Khangura, a former NRI, to initiate interaction with various NRIs, groups and organisations in the USA, Canada and Europe to set an agenda for his trip to these places later this year.

In a letter issued to Mr Khangura, Capt Amarinder asked Khangura to utilize his forthcoming trip to US, Canada and the UK for the benefit of the party, keeping the assembly elections in mind.

“You are requested to initiate an interaction with various NRI organisations and individuals .... which can act as a prelude to my visit to these countries before Diwali this year”, the PCC President asked Khangura, while adding, “you can act as a representative of the PPCC President to help me in setting an agenda for my trip”.

This PCC President said, “this visit by you is to be used as an advance party for me to meet Indian Community and make them aware of our initiatives, and intentions of taking the NRIs along, after the Congress party is voted to power”.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
