Chandigarh : Senior Congress leaders today sought to shift blame on Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu if the party fails to accomplish its “Mission 13”.
Stepping pressure on the party’s star campaigner, senior vice-president of the PPCC and chairman of the election management committee Lal Singh said, “Sidhu will be responsible if the party misses the target of winning all the 13 seats due to his ill-timed ‘friendly match’ jibe against the Chief Minister on the last day of the campaign.”

The chorus for the resignation of Punjab local bodies minister Navjot Singh Sidhu grew louder on Tuesday as five of his cabinet colleagues demanded that he quit the ministry if he doubted chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s leadership, signalling a full-blown slugfest in the state Congress ahead of the declaration of the Lok Sabha election results on May 23.

Chandigarh : Punjab Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot on Monday asked Navjot Singh Sidhu to resign from the state Cabinet if he cannot work with Capt Amarinder Singh, a day after the chief minister accused the cricketer-turned-politician of “damaging” the Congress just before polls.
