Women Entrepreneurs
Women Entrepreneurs are part of the very DNA of Jassi’s Macro Dairy Ventures (MDVL). They are partners in the dairy project through owning pedigree Holstein Friesen cows which they keep in community dairy infrastructure units (CDUs) constructed by MDVL. This enables even women from landless backgrounds to keep up to 5 cows which generate income for those women.
Case studies have shown that Women Entrepreneur’s whose children were formerly unable to attend school due to poverty, now attend. Essential medical treatments are also now able to be paid for and not only that, women have gained a new respect in the community as often they are the main breadwinners in a household.
The current MDVL project will ultimately enable and empower over 3,000 of Punjab’s poorest women, equipping them with not only the ability to earn an income, but also new skills through MDVLs supplementary programs in the areas of health care and education.
