Subject : Withdrawl of investigation into the affairs of S. Jagdish Singh Garcha Ex-MLA

The above named was arrested in October 2002 and detained in jail for a number of days.

Media reports indicates that investigations by your department may be concluded and the file closed with further action.

The above named and his family represent the worst face of Punjab politics. They are the pinnacle criminality in Punjab.

They have not only accumulate vast tracks of agricultural land and urban property, but they continue to enjoy income from the illicit trade of liquor and narcotics.

Everyone in Punjab knows that the above named are the foremost criminals in Punjab.

It will be a great tragedy of politics compulsions lead the current government to close this investigation.

You are requested not to close this file but to further instruct detailed enquiries in order that truth can prevail and these persons be put in their rightful place, in jail.
