Ludhiana City Center Issue - 15/06/2007
With reference to recent media reports regarding alleged statements made by Manmohan Singh and Dayal Chand Garg, officers of the Ludhiana Improvement Trust, in the Punjab Vigilance Bureau enquiry relating to the Ludhiana city center issue, I can categorically state;1) Neither I nor any member of my family has ever met Manmohan Singh or Dayal Chand Garg .
2) No such meeting has taken place in the Majestic Park Plaza hotel or any other venue.
3) I have never received a single rupee, let alone Rs.15 lac, from Mr. G.K. Ghambir or from any representative of Today Homes or from anybody connected with this project.
I am not aware under what circumstances the alleged statements were made, but I will be instructing lawyers to seek effective remedy unless Manmohan Singh and Dayal Chand Garg either deny the statements or admit that these were made under duress and are therefore invalid, failing which I will be filing a defamation suite against the said Manmohan Singh and Dayal Chand Garg.
