Chandigarh International Airport - 08/01/2008

Sh. Prem kumar Dhumal
Hon'ble Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh
Himachal Pardesh Secretariat
Shimla - 171002

08 January 2008

Dear Sir,

Chandigarh International Airport

As leader of the opposition you had agreed with my suggestion that Himachal should participate in the equity of the proposed international airport [your letter attached].

Now as Chief Minister I trust that you will act on this and seek at least a 10% share in the project.

By doing so you will be making a strong statement that your administration means business.

You will also be helping Punjab, which is currently in a sorry financial state and is facing great difficulty in meeting its proposed 24.5% obligation, leave aside Punjab's original 49% intentions.

As someone who cares for the severely indebted farmers of the region, I trust that you will support my proposal to commit 10% of the equity of the project special purpose vehicle. [SPV] for the landowners whose land is being acquired in addition to the proposed financial settlement.

Kind regards,
Yours faithfully,

Jassi Khangura
