Khangura Condemns Cancellation of Monday Proceedings - 24/09/2010
KHANGURA CONDEMNS CANCELLATION OF MONDAY PROCEEDINGSThe ruling party today showed that it has no stomach to debate the critical issues of the day by cancelling the Vidhan Sabha session due on Monday 27 September.
Whereas the house should be meeting for at least 10 sessions this time it has been cut down from 5 sessions to 4. This is a further nail in the coffin of Punjab democracy.
By doing so they have effectively admitted that they are running scared and have no defence to the substantial charges currently being levied against them on law and order, the Rs.800 crores farmers’ reimbursement, the farmers’ productivity bonus, pensions, etc…
With such a large family contingent in this “House of Badals” one would have thought that the ruling family would have not lack confidence in facing the opposition.
Today’s decision is further proof of a lame, unresponsive and ineffective government plodding to its inevitable defeat in the forthcoming assemble elections.
KHANGURA CONDEMNS AS “CALLOUS” THE FAILURE TO LIST THE OBITUARY FOR THE LATE SARDARNI JASWANT KAUR
The incompetence of this government was further underlined today when the Chief Minister admitted in the house that the obituary for Sardarni Jaswant Kaur had erroneously been missed from the list.
For the government machinery to have done so is callous to the extreme.
Before angers mount and claims of deliberate omission start, the Chief Minister should apologise first to the family of the late Sardar Beant Singh and then to the people of Punjab.
This administration has shown its true colours. If it cannot complete a list of obituaries competently how can we expect it to run this state?
