TARN TARAN: A widow has alleged that she was raped by a Station House Officer (SHO) in Tarn Taran district. She alleged that on February 10 when she had gone to police station to lodge a complaint in regard to a dispute where she was told to go to SHO’s quarter as he was not present.
The SHO allegedly raped her at his quarter.The victim had earlier lodged a complaint with SSP Tarn Taran, who had ordered a DSP to conduct probe. However, the woman accompanied by others approached DIG Border Range Paramraj Singh Umranangal to entrust the enquiry to some other officer.
Umranangal has now ordered Tarn Taran SP (Detective) to conduct the probe.
