LUDHIANA: In yet another incident of crime against women and public apathy, a woman was brutally beaten up with iron rods by four men as people stood as mute spectators.
What was more appalling was that the video clip was shot by one of the four men involved in beating and nobody offered help to the helpless woman even in broad daylight.
The woman had allegedly asked one of the accused named Manoj to return Rs 20,000 which she had lent to him.
Manoj, irked with this thrashed the woman along with thereof his friends.
The incident comes a month after the brutal assault on a young Dalit woman by Punjab police cops when she had approached them for help after two youths had passed lewd comments on her.
The assault was videographed by a passerby and the video had gone viral on the internet.
Supreme Court taking a suo moto notice of the incident had issued notice to Punjab on the assault.
