HOSHIARPUR: An 18-year-old girl of Budhi Pind has been allegedly raped by a married man of Budho Barkat village
The Tanda police have arrested the accused. The complainant, a Class 11 student and an athlete, said she used to go to the government college campus for practice where she met Makhan Singh who enticed her with a visa for Malaysia.
The man took her to Chandigarh on the pretext of applying for the visa, where he kept her in a private room and repeatedly raped her for nearly a month, the girl alleged.
On August 25, the victim reportedly managed to run away and reached home, she added.
Makhan allegedly followed the girl to the village but since in the meantime she had lodged a complaint with the police, the accused was arrested before he could reach home.
On Tuesday, he was produced in a court and was sent to judicial custody.
