Ludhiana : It was a 23-year-old neighbour who had kidnapped, raped and dumped the two-year-old girl and thrown her in bushes near Jassian Road on September 10.

Govind Paswan was arrested and the latter confessed to raping and throwing the two-year-old in bushes. Govind came under a cloud when he returned home late. His absence evoked the police's suspicion. The accused, who is married and has a month-old daughter, was working for a private caterer at PAU.
