Youth murdered by paramour’s family

Samrala : A youth was allegedly murdered at his paramour’s house at Gagra village, near here. Gurpreet Singh (21), a resident of Kotala village, was brutally done to death by infuriated family members of the girl.
The girl, who is a minor, her father Rachhpal Singh and brother Basant Singh have been booked under Sections 302, 201 and 34 of the IPC. The three have been arrested.
The brother of the deceased, Rajwant Singh, told the police that his brother had known the girl since about two years and that she would often call him home.
The Station House Officer (SHO) said Gurpreet probably entered the girl’s house last night by scaling the outer wall. A family member saw them together. Thus infuriated, they attacked him with sharp-edged weapons, resulting in his death.
He alleged that the girl too helped her family members to kill the youth. Later, the body was dumped near Gharkhna village. The SHO said the murder took place at about 2 am while the police learnt about at about 8 am.
The girl would be sent to a juvenile jail at Ludhiana, he added.
