Bride’s mother blames groom’s kin

Ludhiana : While the police claim the probe into the acid attack on a bride here yesterday was heading in the right direction, the victim’s mother alleged the wrong persons had been rounded up.
She alleged that the attack was orchestrated by the bridegroom’s sister-in-law, who was divorced. “The groom’s sister-in-law hired goons to carry out the acid attack on my daughter. We had prior warning about the threat.” She claimed the boy’s elder brother had had a troubled marriage.
But a relative of the groom rubbished the allegations.
