3-day police remand for acid attack accused

Ludhiana : The city police produced all the accused in the Ludhiana acid attack case before a local court last evening. They have been sent on police remand till December 12. The accused comprise Amitpal Kaur, Parvinder Singh, Sunnypreet Singh, Gurtej Singh, Rakesh Kumar and Jaspreet Singh.

Civil Judge Pankaj Verma visited Parvinder Singh, who was injured while trying to evade arrest, at hospital and remanded him to police custody. Gurbans Singh Bains, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Crime, claimed: "The accused have confessed to their crime. Amitpal Kaur Pari, who masterminded the crime, was about to leave the country. We will arrest the shopkeeper at Bakshiwala who had sold acid to the accused. The vendor who had changed the registration number plates of the vehicle used in the crime will also be arrested,” he said.

The victim is undergoing treatment at CMCH here.
