Jalandhar: Joining the protest of the Sikh Council Jalandhar and other Sikh organisations, Shiromani Akali Dal Delhi (SADD), a splinter group of SAD on Tuesday also demanded registration of an FIR against senior BJP leader Navjot Singh Sidhu.
The SADD members handed over a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner Kamal Kishore Yadav and sought action against Sidhu.
General Secretary of SADD Bhupinder Singh Khalsa said that Sidhu should be punished for making a mockery of the shabad of the Guru Arjan Dev. “The Sikh community had felt offended with the distortion of the true shabad of Guru Arjan Dev and attributing to Arjuna of Mahabharata,” they said.
Citing the video clip of Navjot Sidhu’s rally in Ludhiana as unfortunate, the members maintained that the clip was circulated in the social media. “The Central government should intervene while Sidhu should be taken to task to appease the agitated community members,” they said.
