SAD leader Langah gets jail for graft

Mohali : Mohali district court on Wednesday awarded three years imprisonment to former agriculture minister and SAD leader Sucha Singh Langah in a disappropriate assets case.

Additional district and sessions Judge DS Johal also imposed a fine of Rs 1.10 crore on Langah. Along with Langah, the court also awarded three years imprisonment to another accused Amrik Singh.

Meanwhile, the court acquitted five other accused in the case.

The case dates back to 2002 when the state vigilance bureau had lodged an FIR against Langah and others for disproportionate assets.

Reacting to the development, Langah outside the Mohali district court complex said that he will challenge the verdict in the Punjab and Haryana High court.
