Congress councillors to protest against MC Commissioner and Mayor

Jalandhar : The Congress councillors have threatened to sit on dharna against the M C Commissioner G S Khera and Mayor Sunil Jyoti if they would not fulfill the directions of the vigilance department and deputy commissioner for the road construction. They have given time till April 15 otherwise they would start agitation against them. On Tuesday, a group of Congress councillors conducted a meeting at the residence of Jagdish Raj who is leader of opposition in the M C general house. The leaders claimed that they were happy with the beginning of road construction work in the city because the residents would get relief. They rued that M C officials started work on main three roads of the city but without following the directions of the vigilance department and deputy commissioner. The councillors alleged that M C Commissioner and Mayor were encouraging the corruption by not fulfilling the norms. They complained that when they had conducted checking of the road construction work they had pointed out that boards were missing from the construction site where information related with construction should have been mentioned.
