Cong alleges harrasment of worker by SAD

Kapurthala : In a incident of blamegame, Kapurthala Congress alleged Kapurthala SAD leadership for harassing congress worker through misusing the police, alleged District General Secretary, Surinder Pal Singh Khalsa while addressing the press conference on Wednesday morning.

He said that a photograph on social media has been viraled on Tuesday, which clearly indicates that Dharminder Singh alias Mintu who was nabbed by Jalandhar rural police recently with 1.350 kg. of heroin and said drug peddler was working under the patrnonage of SAD leader Sarabjit Singh Makkar and Kapurthala Market Committee Chairman Ranjit Singh Khojewal and Block Samiti Chairman Daljit Singh Kot. Raising questions over the police functioning, Congress General Secretary Surinder Pal Singh Khalsa said that police rather to act againt the accused, harassing the Congress leader.

A few hours later, SAD under the headship of Sarabjit Singh Makkar organised press conference to refute these charges as leveled by congress. Addressing the media Makkar said that it was a planned conspiracy which initiated by a few party rebels who already left the SAD before he assume charge of Kapurthala constituency. Replying to a question about the involvement of a present SAD leader Sukha Kadupur, Makkar replied that any person whatever stature he held in the party, if goes against party to defame its name, he or she will not be spared and even a strict action against him will be purposed to high command, he added.

Refuting the charges as leveled by the Congress, Makkar said that Dharvinder Singh, alias Mintu never remained a primary member since then he looking after the affairs of Kapurthala constituency and he was reportedly left the SAD as and when former SAD MLA from Kapurthala Ragbhir Singh was left the party. He further said that viraled photograph is a fabricated photograph and SAD had already filed complaint against this planned conspiracy and if police prove the same then he would be the first to file defamation againt them, he added.

On the other hand, Chairman Market Committee, Ranjit Singh Khojewal said that Sukha a SAD leader planned this conspiracy due to some political vendetta and he is ready to face any probe after he refuted all the allegation of congress leadership.

SAD leader Sukhdev Singh Kadupur said that he is a faithful soldier of SAD and someone played a game againt him to involve his name in this conspiracy

SHO, P S Sadar said that no harassment to any Congress worker was made and no case against any person has been registered and police has been inquiring the matter against the complaint filed by Ranjit Singh Khojewal with an allegation of maligning his and his party’s image with fabricated photograph, he added.
