BJP promoting a select few, says Congress

Jalandhar : Taking a dig at the Modi government’s first year at the Centre, All-India Congress SC Morcha chairman PL Puniya said that the BJP has been reaping the fruits that the Congress had sown in its tenure.
Puniya, while addressing mediapersons at Circuit House, said that Congress had ruled the country for 60 years and provided employment to maximum persons. It promoted industry as a whole in the country but what the Modi government is doing is entirely opposite.
“The Congress promoted industry while the BJP is promoting blue-eyed industrialists like Ambani and Adani. Modi arranged a Rs 5,000 crore loan for the Adani group for mining in Australia. He is extending benefits to selected industrialists across the country,” Puniya said.
Questioning Modi’s foreign visits, Puniya said that Modi has been gaining popularity abroad by exhibiting the ‘Make in India’ initiative in foreign countries. “The development that has taken place in India has not just happened in BJP’s one year at the helm. Its roots were actually developed by the Congress,” Puniya claimed.
