Patiala : Preneet Kaur, local legislator and a former Union Minister of State for External Affairs, here on Monday lauded the efforts of the local DAV Public School in imparting quality education to its students.
Speaking as chief guest at the religious function of havan yajnas organised in the school, she praised the efforts of the school authorities for this noble venture. She said that it was the need of the hour to connect present generation to ethical and purposeful life and motivate them to overcome the barriers of caste, colour, creed and religion which is the universal message of world peace.
The ceremony was organised to instill in students the high moral values of holy vedas that is reservoir of all knowledge and to acquaint the students about scientific ways of organizing Hawan Yajna, month long series of hawan was conducted in the school. Almost every student and teacher of the school got the opportunity to attend it and get benefitted by its religious and scientific values.
Along with this, to popularize Sanskrit language Sanskrit Week was observed during this week. During this week during many activities were organised with the motive of connecting the students with Vedas which are the only solution to the modern problems of mankind. As many as 120 students participated in these competitions which included 'Vedic Shaloka Ucharan' Competition, 'Ishwar Stuti Prathana Upasna Mantra', 'Vedic Bhashan Pratiyogita', 'Vedic Sukti Vyakhya' , 'Vedic Quiz'.
Principal SR Prabhakar applauded and admired the members of Arya Yuva Samaj DAV Public School and Sanskrit Department for conducting such a motivating and successful event. School authorities honoured Preneet Kaur.
The former union minister also felicitated Sawaraj Sharma for organising this month long venture. Other dignitaries present on the occasion were Head of Arya Samaj Raj Kumar Singla, members of Arya Samaj Harshvardhan, Ramesh Puri, and Prof K K Moudgil.
