Ludhiana : The members of District Youth Congress staged a protest near gill road on Saturday demanding extreme punishment for the accused who murdered a class 12th student after gangraping her.
Vice President of District Youth Congress Sunny Kainth said that the accused should be hanged till death and no other punishment should be given to them. Further he said that this will also set an example for others so that no other incident like this should happen again in the city.
Further he also took a dig at the state government and the police department. He said that the state government has completely failed to provide security to the women in the society. The rape incidents are not coming to halt but the state government is having a blind eye towards the situation.
Further he also raised questions on the working of police department who still has not been able to arrest all the accused in the case. The protesters also handed over a memorandum to the ADCP Jagdev Singh and ACP Ramandeep Singh demanding immediate arrest and extreme punishment for the accused.
