Mahila Cong to hold ‘Udaan Sammelan

Jalandhar : Punjab Pradesh Mahila Congress President Kittu Grewal on Monday said that the state unit of women leaders would celebrate the International Women’s Day as ‘Udaan Mahila Sammelan’ on March 10 at Jalandhar.
Grewal said that Punjab Congress Chief Captain Amarinder Singh, All India Mahila Congress chief Shobha Oza, Rajya Sabha MP and senior Congress leader Ambika Soni, Rajinder Kaur Bhattal besides Congress general secretary Shakeel Ahmed would grace the occasion, where women from all walks of life would be honoured. The awardees would include MNREGA workers, Anganwadi workers, students, women who fought for drugs abuse and social evils.
Addressing a press conference, Kittu also announced the Punjab body of Mahila Congress where over 85 women vice presidents, general secretaries and secretaries for all the districts were also announced. “During the International Women Day programme, the state body of the Mahila Congress would be officially announced by Shobha Oza while duties would be assigned as per each assembly segment ahead of Punjab”, she said.
The Mahila Congress chief also maintained that the final list of the Mahila Congress workers was issued by All India Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza recently.
