2 SAD councillors among 20 booked for attack on Youth Cong leader

MUKTSAR: A day after a Youth Congress leader from Patiala was attacked at the Gidderbaha police station, cops on Wednesday booked more than 20 persons, including two Akali councillors and a cousin of SAD halqa in-charge of Gidderbaha assembly constituency.

The accused have been identified as councillors Ravi Kumar and Madho Das; Mani Dhillon, cousin of Hardeep Singh ‘Dimpy’ Dhillon, constituency in-charge of constituency, on charges of rioting and creating ruckus in the police station.

Youth Congress leader Karan Gaur and two of his lwayers were assaulted when the former went to join investigation in a domestic violence case lodged by his wife Ritu.

The police have also booked Krishan Lal, Ritu’s father, in the case. On Karan’s complaint, the police registered an assault case against the accused. The accused allegedly also manhandled the cops.
