Hoshiarpur : PPCC will provide give legal aid to all the affected victims of the Piplanwala land scam in which more than Rs 100 crore were minted by a few Akali leaders by grabbing the land of the common people.
CLP leader Charanjit Singh Channi, alongwith Sham Sunder Arora, MLA Hoshiarpur, met the victims and listened to their grievances.
He assured the victims that the Congress would help them in their fight for justice.
Channi also appealed to the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court to take suo motto notice of the scam.
He also released the name and telephone numbers of 10 lawyers who would offer legal aid to the victims. He also suspected the involvement of senior BJP leaders from Hoshiarpur in the scam.
The Congress doesn’t have faith in the inquiry being conducted by the state government. The case should be handed over to the CBI for investigation, he added.
