Fazilka : Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Ferozepur zone coordinator Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and dozens of his supporters today resigned from the primary membership of the party.
Addressing a press conference, Sandhu alleged that the party had failed to formulate a policy for the welfare of Punjabis, particularly the farmers and the youth. “AAP’s state leaders and workers are blindly following the instructions of their bosses in Delhi,” he added.
“Party tickets are being sold at hefty rates by senior leaders,” Sandhu alleged.
Davinder Singh Sekhon and Hardeep Singh Doda, vice-president and joint secretary, respectively, of the farmers’ wing, Punjab, Kuldeep Kaur, zonal coordinator, women’s wing, and other office-bearers at the block level have also quit the party. The leaders said they would prefer to expose ‘corruption’ in the distribution of AAP tickets rather than joining another party.
Worry about Dalit security, not of House: Mann to BJP
Chandigarh: Under attack for allegedly compromising security of Parliament by shooting a video of sensitive areas, MP Bhagwant Mann of the AAP on Friday said, “The BJP should rather worry about the security of the Dalits in the country. The Dalits are being beaten up and their leaders abused,” he said.
AAP to protest atrocities against Dalits today
Chandigarh: The Aam Aadmi Party will protest against the BJP-led Centre and the SAD-BJP govt on Saturday for their alleged failure to “tackle atrocities against Dalits across the country”. The protests would be organised at all district headquarters of the state, state’s SC/ST wing convener Dev Mann said.
