LAMBI (MUKTSAR): Congress held a workers’ meeting at chief minister Parkash Singh Badal’s constituency Lambi on Wednesday.
Attacking the Badals, Vijay Inder Singla said that Parkash Singh Badal will get `2.5 lakh as pension after his retirement from the post of an MLA while senior citizens and handicap people are entitle to a sum of `250 per month as pension.
He said that Jathedars get compensation even if they have not suffered loss of produce in natural calamities whereas the poor people and people aligned with the Congress don’t get any compensation despite losing their crop.
“From police stations to gurudwaras, the Badals’ influence is everywhere. The Badals have committed seven sins, namely, drugs, corruption, religious manipulation, agriculture stagnancy, de-industrialisation leading to unemployment, control over tele-media through Fastway transmission, suppression of democratic process,” he said.
“And these sins will lead to the political oblivion of Badals,” added Singla.
Singla claimed that his research on panchayats indicates that the ruling SAD-BJP politicians are harassing and intimidating the public to take control over the panchayats of other political parties.
Congress spokesperson Vijay Inder Singla, Manpreet Badal, district Congress committee president Gurmeet Singh Khudian and Mahesh Inder Singh Badal were present during the meet.
