AAP demands attempt to murder case against SAD councillor

MOGA: Demanding addition of Section 307 (attempt to murder) in the first infromation report (FIR) against the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) councillor Satnam Singh Sattu, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers staged protest in Baghapurana on Saturday.
Sattu, a councillor of ward number-12 of Baghapurana along with his supporters assaulted three of the AAP workers cum rally organisers on September 11 after conclusion of a massive rally in which party convener Arvind Kejriwal had rolled out farmers’ manifesto.
Protestors led by Faridkot AAP MP Sadhu Singh and AAP leader Ramesh Grover held a peaceful protest in Baghapurana and submitted their memorandum to deputy suprintendent of police (DSP) Baghapurna, Jaspal Singh.
Police under SAD regime are failing to maintain law and order in the state as they are pressurised, said MP Sadhu Singh while addressing gathering.
“If the police fail to add Section 307 within 72 hours, we will be forced to intensify the protest,”AAP leader Grover said.
He also demanded arrest of remaining culprits as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Sattu is under arrest and a case had been registered under Sections 452 (house-trespass after preparation for hurt, assault), 427 (mischief causing damage), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Sections of the Arms Act at Baghapurana police station.
