FEROZEPUR: Less than a week after a private bus owned by a transport company of an Akali leader mowed down a teenager in Mukstar, another bus of the same company on Thursday crushed a 12-year-old girl at Makhu town, 60 km from Ferozepur.

BATHINDA: Farmer unions on Wednesday called for a threeday protest at Badal village, the ancestral place of chief minister Parkash Singh Badal in Muktsar district, from January 6. The call given at the first Lalkaar (challenge) rally at Barnala came a day before their meeting with Badal at Punjab Bhawan in Chandigarh on Thursday. The farmers were earlier scheduled to meet the chief minister on December 7 but the meeting was postponed to December 17.
