Capt expresses concern over law and order situation

Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Captain Amarinder Singh on Wednesday expressed grave concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab.

He said the roads of Punjab are no longer safe and people are scared to move out particularly during the late hours as the criminals are having a field day, looting and robbing anybody at their own discretion.

Quoting newspapers reports, he said, about 30 incidents of serious crime were reported during the last 48 hours across Punjab which included a series of thefts, robberies, dacoities and murders.

He also said that these are only those incidents, which have been registered. There are several other incidents where police had either failed to or preferred not to take any cognisance.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
