Parminderpal Singh Khalsa, senior vice president of the Youth Akali Dal and Suirnderpal Singh Goldy, vice president today joined the Congress in presence of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Capt Amarinder Singh. They were welcomed into the party by Capt Amarinder in presence of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Managing Committee president Paramjit Singh Sarna.

Rajwinder Singh Dhanaula, president Youth Organisation of India and in-charge of the student wing of the Bahujan Samaj Party also joined the Congress today along with hundreds of his supporters. He was inducted into the party by the PCC President Capt Amarinder Singh.

Talking to reporters Mr Khalsa and Goldy said, the Akali Dal had lost its direction and credibility. He said, most of the Akali leaders and workers, who had generational association with the party were feeling alienated and disillusioned over the treatment meted out to them by the party which is being held captive by a select few.

Dhanaula said that he had left the BSP to join the Congress as he got to know that the BSP was hand in glove with the Akali Dal. He said, the BSP was only exploiting the sentiments of the dalits and downtrodden while at the same time having reached a secret understanding with the Akalis and the BJP.
