Exactly a week after the broad daylight killing of Gurvinder Singh, aka Bunty Bajwa, a former sarpanch of Bahadurke village, the victim’s family members have demanded the arrest of rest of the accused involved in the murder case.
Emotional scenes were witnessed at a local resort near Jalandhar Bypass where the grieving relatives of Bunty Bajwa demanded capital punishment for the persons involved in the killing of the victim.
The victim’s wife, along with her three children, including two daughters and one son, while addressing a press conference, demanded that if elections were all about settling personal scores and killing each other, the government should put an end to this menace (elections).
“I have lost my husband. The lives of my children have been devastated. All of them who were involved in the killing of my husband should be given stern punishment,” said the victim’s wife.
Rashpal Singh, the victim’s maternal uncle, claimed that a sitting MLA of the ruling party had allegedly threatened Bunty Bajwa and warned him with dire consequences as the victim was supporting an independent candidate in the civic elections. Ok, can i buy urispas tablets in a trusted pharmacy.
While the main accused Karanbir was arrested two days ago, Gurdev Singh and his accomplices, including Balwinder Singh, Davinder Singh and Vicky Sakhon, are on the run. Rashpal said the police was working under pressure and not arresting the accused persons.
Bajwa was shot dead from a point-blank range by Karanbir during the municipal corporation elections held on June 10.
After killing Bajwa, the accused had opened fire and damaged over 10 vehicles to scare the crowd.
The victim was a supporter of Independent candidate Gurdeep Singh Bittu, while accused Karanbir was backing SAD candidate Baljinder Singh Goggi of ward no 1.
Initially, the incident was linked with the violence during the municipal corporation elections, but the investigation took a u-turn when the police came to know that both victim and the accused were bitter rivals and had been involved in bloody clashes earlier.
