CHANDIGARH: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee(PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa today said that Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for fanning communal hatred across the country and working against the interest of minority communities.

Bajwa said that rally by Modi at Madhopur on border of Punjab and J and K was deliberate and it was a strong message against minority communities.  He said that Punjab and J and K both the states have minority population and venue of rally was aimed at communal polarization .He said that Punjab had already faced long spell of communal disturbance and J and K is still facing communal strife.

Modi was fountain head of communal hatred. He had no agenda for the development of nation and he was desperate to become Prime Minister at the cost of unity and integrity of country. He said that communal credentials of Modi are known to whole nation. He said that India was a country of different castes, religions and faiths. Only a secular party with known secular credentials could give justice to people of all shades.

He said that both SAD and BJP alliance partners in Punjab are two sides of same coin. They have common agenda to grab power by hook or crook. He said that interests of Sikhs and other minority communities were not safe in the hands of BJP and SAD alliance with BJP was an opportunist arrangement.

He asked Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal who addressed the BJP rally to give good governance to people for which he was given mandate. He asked Modi that if he has any magic wand of development then why don’t he try it in Punjab where SAD-BJP alliance had pushed the state from 1st to 12th place on national economic chart.

He said that NDA had lost its relevance after most of its partners left the alliance. SAD and Shiv Sena are only two parties supporting BJP being partner of National Democratic Alliance(NDA). He said that politics of all three parties left in the alliance was based on communal agenda.

Bajwa raised questions on the sanctity of political alliance between SAD and BJP and said that SAD was opposed to construction of peace memorial for those 25000 innocent people killed during terrorism in Punjab and BJP has failed to take decisive stand on the issue. He asked the BJP to take firm stand and tell the people what are its compulsions for not supporting peace memorial as proposed by Congress party. He said that innocent Punjabis and many police men killed by terrorists deserved due recognition and honour.

Bajwa said that Modi was shedding crocodile’s tears for victims of Uttarakhand flash floods. He said that Modi had announced Rs.2 crores for the relief work whereas he had spent over Rs.350 crores on his projection as Chief Minister on 3D presentations.  He said that Gujarat Government has a fleet of 12 helicopters and he has not sent even single helicopter for relief work in Uttarakhand. He said that some other states had given Rs.5 to 10 crores for relief work. He said that Modi had visited Uttarakhand despite advice by Home Minister that VVIP visits would hamper the rescue operations. He said that by visiting Uttarakhand he wanted to play to the gallery.
