Chandigarh : Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh has reacted strongly against the incident in Shamli (Uttar Pradesh) where a policeman allegedly pulled the beard of a Sikh truck driver.

In a tweet to UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Chief Minister called it a deplorable incident. “Shameful that a man in uniform should show such scant regard for religious sentiments of a common man. Request @myogiadityanath to take cop concerned to task...” his tweet further says, “A strong message needs to go out that @BJP4India does not condone such behaviour”.

According to a video that has gone viral, a truck driver and his helper were stopped by the police on the Muzzafarnagar-Shamli border after they refused to give a pass to the police vehicle. The driver and the helper are then seen accusing the cops of pulling their beard. Outraged, the truck driver and his helper drew out a sword and challenged the cops for hurting their religious sentiments.
