Congress candidate Bittu files nomination, shows strength with road show

Ludhiana : Congress candidate from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu on Thursday filed nomination for Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana. Before filing nomination, Bittu hold road show to show strength.

The large number of supporters of Congress candidate assembled at Bhai Bala Chowk and moved towards Mini Secretariat for filing nomination. Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh skipped the Ludhiana visit as earlier he was scheduled to accompany Bittu for filing nomination papers. In the absence of CM, Punjab Congress Incharge Asha Kumari was present during the filing of nomination papers.

 Asha Kumari said that keeps getting in view the public response, it was clear that Congress will completely sweep the elections in Punjab and Chandigarh. She said that Modi Government had failed on all fronts and Congress will form government after elections in center.

Bittu said that with the cooperation of people he had given excellent  performance in parliament and constituency and brought many project to Ludhiana. He said that the main contest will be held with BJP-SAD and Bains will not pose any threat. Reminding Bains for his earlier daring of fighting election against Sukhbir Badal and told him to stand by his words. He claimed that he always stood by the people during last five years and got tremendous love and affection from them.

Bittu reaches on Grandfather’s Ambassador

Sitting MP and Congress candidate from Ludhiana Ravneet Singh Bittu travelled in 30 year old Ambassador Car of his Grandfather Beant Singh to file nomination papers.  Bittu said that the car is Lucky for him as every time he travelled in the same car to file nominations and won elections. He said that his grandfather Beant Singh, former Chief Minister use to travel in Ambassador car bearing 1919 number.

Bittu’s roadshow causes inconvenience to Public

The roadshow by Congress before the filing of nomination papers led to inconvenience to Public. The Police have diverted the traffic towards Mini Secretariat and traffic remained blocked in many areas. From Bhai Bala Chowk to Bharat Nagar chowk, the Congress supporters have blocked the road and the commuters have to face inconvenience.

 The commuters slammed political parties for blocking roads and administration for allowing political parties to hold rallies on roads causing inconvenience to people.
