PUNJAB EXPRESS BUREAU Ludhiana : A massive youth rally held today at local Grain Market Jalandhar bypass indicated a big victory for Congress candidate MP Ravneet Singh Bittu. Braving the scorching heat, a large number of youngsters and youth Congress workers from all parts of Ludhiana participated in the rally with great zeal and enthusiasm. Addressing the rally, Bittu called upon the youths to usher in a new era by joining the politics. He said that earlier the youths did not like politics due to bad and corrupt image of some politicians. But now the youths’ perception about politics was changing and a big number of youth leaders were coming forward to join politics, he added. Bittu said that his family was in politics for the last three generations and their family had always practised clean and honest politics. He said that his grandfather Beant Singh was the first generation of his family in the politics followed by uncle Tej Parkash Singh and now he himself and his cousin Gurkirat Singh Kotli. “But, no one can point a finger at us, as we have never indulged in corrupt practices. On the other hand, a number of allegations of corruption have often been levelled against Badal’s family,” Bittu said. He added that his LIP opponent Simarjit Singh Bains was infamous for extortion and blackmailing by doing sting operations on officials. “But when the youths get going, nobody can stop them, not even the barbed wires on the border,” Bittu added.
Among others present in the rally included Punjab Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and MLA East Sanjay Talwar were also present.
