BATHINDA: Delhi irrigation minister Gopal Rai on Thursday accused Union food processing industry minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal of ignoring her home state for establishing any industry from her ministry.
Rai, a senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, told reporters that the SAD candidate from Bathinda has cheated the electors. He said though the Malwa region is a fruit (kinnow and grapes) hub of the state, no agroprocessing unit has been set up in Bathinda, the constituency she represented for two consecutive terms.
He also targeted the Congress “for having a secret pact with the Akalis. “Sham investigation by the Punjab government into sacrilege incidents clearly shows that the ruling Congress was not serious to punish the guilty. People are fed up with the Congress and the SAD and see AAP as the only alternative. AAP’s development model of Delhi has been appreciated widely and we hope it will be reflected in Punjab too,” he said.
Meanwhile, Kejriwal toured various parts of the Faridkot parliamentary constituency to seek votes for party candidate Sadhu Singh.
