Jalandhar : Former Union Minister and Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari has sought expediting of the Banga-Naina Devi road on priority basis. He has also sought immediate repairs of the road between Banga and Anandpur Sahib. In separate letters written to the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and state Public Works Department Minister Vijay Inder Singla, Tewari sought their immediate intervention for completing and repairing these roads. In his letter to Gadkari, Tewari reminded him that he had laid the foundation stone of the Banga-Naina Devi road on February 25, this year. He brought to the minister’s notice that the road was in a horrible condition and it needed immediate and urgent completion as it caused lot of inconvenience to the public. “This road is in abysmal condition and it is difficult to cover even a few kilometres without breaking your back and shockers to whatever vehicle you are travelling in,” Tewari wrote to Gadkari while referring to the pitiable condition of the road. In another letter to the Punjab CM and the PWD Minister, Tewari drew their attention towards the poor condition of the 55 km road stretch between Banga and Anandpur Sahib, urging them to ensure that the road is repaired at the earliest. Tewari also spoke personally with the PWD Minister, who assured him that the repairs will be done immediately.
