Ludhiana : Congress MP fro Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh Bittu has strongly condemned the happenings at Golden Temple on the anniversary of Operation Bluestar and urged the state government to take strong action elements who were trying to disturb peace in Punjab by raising provocative slogans. In an interview with a TV channel, who is grandson of the late Chief Minister of Punjab Beant Singh who was assassinated by terrorists in 1995, said that Simranjit Singh Mann and the likes of him were receiving funds from abroad to carry out his nefarious activities.
These people were trying to mislead the youth by promising them to settle in foreign countries or by offering them dollars. The government must be alert to their machinations.
He said there were cells in Europe, the US and Canada which were operating with the backing of Pakistan’s ISI. The government of India must take up this issue with the government concerned and deportation of such people who preach violence and secession. He said it was a matter of grave concern that on the occasion of Guru Nank Devji’s 550th birth anniversary Pakistan was planning to subject Sikh devotes from all over the world to Khalistani propaganda. The government of India should take appropriate steps in the matter.
