CHANDIGARH:Punjab cooperation minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has accused Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president, Sukhbir Singh Badal, of shedding ‘crocodile tears’ over the CBI filing a closure report in the Bargari sacrilege case.
Randhawa alleged, “The SAD president must match his words with action. The crux of the matter is that the CBI is protecting the Badals. They hatched a deeprooted conspiracy to seek votes of dera premis.”
Congress leaders Kushaldeep Singh Kikki Dhillon, Raja Amarinder Singh Warring, S Harpartap Singh Ajnala, S Fatehjung Singh Bajwa, S Kulbir Singh Zira and Barindermeet Singh Pahra said, “If Sukhbir is agitated over the closure report, he should ask Harsimrat Kaur Badal to resign from the Union Cabinet as the CBI falls under the Central government’s purview.” They also questioned the CBI’s role.
AKALI DAL CONVENES CORE COMMITTEE MEET The SAD has convened an urgent meeting of its core committee in Chandigarh on Tuesday. Party spokesperson Daljit Singh Cheema said the party will discuss the issue of closure report of the CBI.
