Jat Mahasabha to file revision petition against SC verdict

Chandigarh : The Punjab Jat Mahasabha will soon file a revision petition in the Supreme Court, which on Tuesday set aside the notification including Jats in the Central list of Other Backward Classes (OBC) for according reservation benefits to them.

Punjab Jat Mahasabha president Kushaldeep Dhillon said, “We will soon file the revision petition in the Supreme Court. We will explore more legal options to defend the case again in the Apex court.”

In a statement, he lambasted the NDA government “for deliberately weakening the case in the court”.

He said that the Jat Mahasabha will fight tooth and nail for the rights of the Jats.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
