Workers of Youth Congress protest

MOHALI: The activists of Punjab Youth Congress (PYC) were mild cane charged and water cannons were also used to disperse the protesters at Siswan T-point near Mullanpur here on Saturday. The Congress workers were also detained by the police but they were later released. The protest was carried out against the SAD-BJP government under the leadership of National Youth Congress president (IYC) and Gidderbaha MLA, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring.

Warring, while addressing the protesters said that the misrule of SAD-BJP and BJP has ruined the future of the youth of Punjab in the last eight years and the unemployment is rising at a rapid pace. He said that the state has become financially bankrupt.Warring said that he will very soon approach the Environment Ministry to take the matter of felling down of tress on the approach road from Siswan T-point to the resorts of badals. The ministry should have an inquiry into the envoirment clearances which were given to construct this road. He said that youth congress will also apply under the right to information act to take out the irregularities which were done during the master planning of Mullanpur.

Washington : The Indian-American community in the US has urged the Trump administration to “fully support” India’s decision to revoke the constitutional provision that accorded special status to Jammu and Kashmir and to continue to exert pressure on Pakistan to end its support to cross-border terrorism.
