BATHINDA/MANSA : The assistant returning officers (AROs) of Mansa and Talwandi Sabo on Tuesday issued notices to Punjab Ekta Party (PEP) chief Sukhpal Singh Khaira for violating the model code of conduct by holding a roadshow without permission, a day after he started his poll campaign in the Bathinda Lok Sabha segment.

Fatehgarh Sahib : Two former IAS officers may contest elections from Fatehgarh Sahib Reserve Constituency in upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) is set to field Darbara Singh Guru while Dr Amar Singh is likely to contest elections on the Congress ticket.The names of both the leaders are almost final and only formal announcement is awaited, said the sources.Former IAS Darbara Singh Guru has resigned from the job to contest assembly elections from Bahadaur in Sangrur district.
