Raju Narisetti named Managing Editor of Wall Street Journal

The Wall Street Journal has named Indian-American journalist Raju Narisetti as Managing Editor of the publication's digital network.

Narisetti is currently the Managing Editor for The Washington Post, where he oversees the company's digital content products, staff and strategy.

Narisetti's appointment marks his return to the Journal, where he had first worked in 1994 as a reporter in Pittsburgh and most recently served as Editor of The Wall Street Journal Europe in 2006.

At the Journal he will be in charge of the online platforms like the WSJ.com, SmartMoney.com and the Chinese, Japanese and German-language editions of WSJ.com.

Narisetti will also become a Deputy Managing Editor of the Journal, and he will report to Alan Murray, Deputy Managing Editor and Executive Editor, Online.

Narisetti holds a Bachelor's degree from Osmania University in Hyderabad and a Master's in Management from the Institute of Rural Management in Gujarat.

Prior to joining the Post in 2009, Narisetti had served as founding editor of Mint newspaper In India.

Robert Thomson, Managing Editor of the Journal said Narisetti's experience in creating Mint brings "important relationships and unique expertise that will assist us as we expand our global digital network".
