NRI Voter Registration
NRIs, who are looking forward to voting in Indian elections, need to be first registered as voters.
As per the amendment of the Representation of People's Act, in order to be eligible to be registered as voters in India, every overseas elector who is not present in their place of ordinary residence in India and has not acquired citizenship of any other country and who is not included in the electoral roll has the right to have their name registered in the electoral roll of the constituency in which their place of residence in India as mentioned in his/her passport is located.

- Permanent Resident Card - Canada, Australia and New Zealand residents
- Permanent Resident Card (unofficially referred as Green Card) - USA residents
- Indefinite leave to Remain Sticker or Right of Abode - UK and Ireland residents
- Permanent Identify card - Hong Kong residents
- Permanent Resident Identity Card - Macau residents
- My PRCard or MyKad card - Malaysia residents
- Blue Photo ID Card - Singapore residents
- Red Photo ID Card - Slovakia residents
- Yellow ID Card - Switzerland residents

Note - 1: Anything completed in Red on Form 6A is for your reference ONLY and should not be repeated/written on your form.
Note - 2: Anything completed in Blue on Form 6A needs to be completed on your form with YOUR Personal information.

- ERO (Electoral registration Officer) receives applicaiton
- Verification of the Form and the documents attached is completed within 7 working days from receiving the information by an ERO.
- Applicant will be notified of the status of his/her application by email, SMS (text message) and post to the foreign country address within 7 working days after verification is complete.
- A list of Electoral Rolls are also available on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, www.ceopunjab.nic.in of the State concerned in PDF format and can be seen by anybody.
