Kulwant Kaur wife of Sadhu Singh told Punjab Newsline that through one of her aquaintances, she came to know that a group of unsrcupulous elements has built up a wall in her land of 3 kanal 5 marlas in the Kullian Mohalla of Suraj Vihar locality, near Maqsoodan. Kulwant is residing in the Model House area in Jalandhar.
She also told that when she went there to check for the situation herself, she was not allowed by the land grabbers to enter her plot. She alleges that they threaten her each time she wishes to visit her plot. This practice is going on from last 5-6 months, she said.
Kulwant told that when she tried to take hold of her property and warned the grabbersof their misconduct, they filed a complaint against her in the local police station in which they said that Kulwant, an NRI woman was illegally taking in possession the land that does not belong to her. On investigation, it was found out that the property belonged to Kulwant Kaur. Despite the fact that all the property papers prove her to be the owner, she has to face the same disrespect continuously.
Kulwant said that she has made complaints to the DIG Jalandhar, DC Jalandhar. "No action has been taken by the police. No help has been offered to me as yet", she said. "It is very difficult for me to deal with this matter without any help from the police as my husband is in Canada and cannot come to India presently."
