Punjab-origin man convicted of murder in UK

LONDON : The central criminal court of England and Wales has convicted Juskiran Sidhu and his accomplice of murder of a 22-year-old man in the London borough of Hillingdon in October 2018.

Sidhu, 28, and Philip Babatunde Fashakin, 26, were found guilty of the murder of Hashim Abdalla Ali, 22, on Wednesday. The sentence will be pronounced later. The court was told that on October 11, Ali was the passenger in a black Mercedes being driven by his friend. The car had pulled up on Central Avenue, Hayes, when Fashakin and Sidhu approached and fired towards the passenger side of the vehicle, striking Ali.

The driver of the car drove off t to take Ali to hospital, but the vehicle collided with a number of stationary cars. A passing ambulance took Ali to hospital but he was pronounced dead.
