8 Indo-Canadians elected MP's in federal elections in Canada

A conservative wave helped 6 Indo-Canadians to join the Canadian Parliament and 2 First time MPs are from New Democratic Party. The total tally of Indo-Canadian MPs has reduced from 9 to 8 in these elections. Interestingly all 5 sitting Indo-Canadian MPs from the Liberal party lost and all 4 sitting Indo-Canadian MPs from the Conservative party won.
The winners are Nina Grewal, Tim Uppal, Deepak Obhrai, Devinder Shorey, Parm Gill, Bal Gosal from Conservative and Jasbir Sandhu & Jinny Sims from NDP.
Among prominent Indo-Canadians who lost were former Federal Health Minister and first Indo-Canadian Premier of British Columbia Ujjal Dosanjh, Beauty Queen Ruby Dhalla, Five time winner Gurbax Malhi, Navdeep Bains and Sukh Dhaliwal.
The Conservative party of Canada under the leadership of Stephan Harper has got Majority in Canadian Parliament with 167 seats and NDP forms the official opposition with 102 seats and Liberal party managed only 34 seats.
Yudhvir Jaswal, chief editor - Midweek Newspapaer who has reported for 7 News Channel during the federal Elections said "The ruling Conservative Party has made very good ties with the Indo-Canadian Community and and the new Canadians".
Dr Aditya Jha who is the founding Director of Canada India foundation and accompanied Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper to India said "I am glad that we have a stable Conservative Majority ". Pankaj Monga an Indo-Canadian Businessman who runs a Financial Planning Company said " For better business and Stock Market we need Stability and a Majority Goverenment is good for the Business".
Many Indo-Canadians who were strong supporters of Liberal party supported the ruling Conservative and wanted to give them a Majority Goverenment.
