NRI hotelier Joginder Sanger will take over as the chairman of the UK branch of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan. He will succeed Maneck Dalal, who stepped down after 38 years of service.

The Bhavan in UK is the largest Indian cultural and education institute outside India.

"We hail you for your work with the Bhavan, UK which has become widely recognised as a centre of excellence for the teaching and propagation of Indian art and culture. The reason for the universal recognition and respect is largely due to you, Dalal ji," Justice Sri Krishna, the vice-president of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, worldwide, said while reading out the citation.

As its founder-Chairman you have given the institute the benefit of inspirational leadership for the last 38 years since the organisation was first opened in London, he said.
