UK asks Ludhiana hospital to hand over woman’s body

LUDHIANA: The British High Commission, New Delhi, has asked SPS Apollo Hospital here to hand over the body and belongings of UK resident Angela Christine (47), who had died at the hospital on May 17 following pneumonia and respiratory arrest.

The High Commission has authorised Danny Michael Pinto Undertakers Limited, Mumbai, or their representative to receive the body.

Soon after getting the letter, the hospital authorities asked the local police to complete all formalities.

Earlier, the local police had decided to send the body to Government Rajindra Hospital, Patiala, as the family of the deceased was supposed to arrive here after a week.

Police are also in touch with Angela’s daughter and sister. They have also shot a video of the house of Angela’s Facebook friend Jaspal Singh, whom she was visiting.

Angela had arrived here on May 4 to visit Jaspal and tour historical places of Punjab.
