LOS ANGELES: A 24-year-old Indian-origin nurse, dubbed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) as “the Bombshell Bandit”, has been sentenced to five and a half years in prison and fined tens of thousands of dollars for robbing banks in the US state of Arizona.

Dressed in the uniform of an Indian soldier from that era, Angad, 27, says he is raising funds and awareness for a British Charity, the UK Punjab Heritage Association, which tells the story of Sikhs in the war. He is the son of Amritpal Singh from Solkhian village in Ropar who came to the UK in the late 1970s.
